Creating Community - one handshake at a time.
Dateline: December 6, 2019
Location: Alpine, CA
The greatest joy one can have is the smile upon a child's face. Creating community means that you don't send other people out to create goodwill amongst the community. This requires candidates to be present and participants in life of the people we work to serve.
As my home, Alpine is always fun during the holidays. The weather gets colder, the rains come, and then we have a sudden clearing that comes between the rain and the parade.
To create community, we must first enjoy our community. I had the honor of participating in the Alpine Christmas Parade. We handed out candy to the children and their parents and walked Alpine Boulevard enjoying the floats and well decorated cars.
We stopped by Jeff Campbell's real estate office and met the goats dressed in holiday wear. They sure liked the food. Nina Gould, our ever present campaign manager, led the walk down the Boulevard. We later dined at Mediterraneos' in Alpine meeting and greeting local residents as we ate.
Happy holidays to our communities in East County. We look forward to our continued job interview and conversation to guide our communities to the future.
