"Twas the night before Christmas and all through the house...not a creature was stirring; not even a mouse..."
Well it really wasn't the night before Christmas this time; yet, the sentiment was still there. The days after the first snowfall is always fun in Julian. Traffic may be a challenge; yet, a hot cocoa and warm apple pie always draw people to the mountains. A quick stop at Lake Cuyamaca Restaurant never hurt either. Then on to Julian after passing Mount Laguna Highway. You will know when you are near the center of town after you turn on the side roads and wave at the cows.
Julian is such a wonderful community to visit and stay for a while to play in the snow. On this outing, we traveled through the snow, by the cows in town, and met up with community members to open the holiday season during the Christmas Tree lighting. The event was beautiful; yet, as the announcer said "someone stole some of the lights..." Maybe the Grinch? Joy and good tidings to the Julian Community this holiday season.
